GEORGIA ENTERTAINMENT NEWS — “WE SHOW UP” will launch its first pilot entertainment workforce and business development program on Monday, September 10, 2018, in Clayton County, GA (located within the Metro-Atlanta area). WE SHOW UP is designed to provide jobs and business opportunities in the multi-billion dollar entertainment industry (film, TV, music, digital entertainment). Applications are available online, and applicants are encouraged to bring their application in person (or to apply in person) at the Clayton County Community Services Authority building by Thursday, September 6. Applications received after September 6 will be considered for the next session, scheduled to begin in January 2019.

OZ MAGAZINE — DeKalb County creatives and businesses supporting film, television, music and digital entertainment have a new friend. Shelbia Jackson has been named the first Director of the DeKalb Entertainment Commission (DEC). Launched last year, DEC is charged with attracting and expanding the entertainment industry in Georgia’s third-largest county. Jackson has served more than ten years with the Decide DeKalb Development Authority (DDDA), the county’s economic development department, and was in the forefront of establishing the DEC to be a user-friendly agency spanning all aspects of entertainment.

AMC’s ‘Lodge 49’: an offbeat character study packed with oddball likability
Atlanta Journal-Constitution — Fraternal orders such as the Freemasons and the Elks have been around for ages but nowadays are aging and dying off.
So it’s no small feat that executive producers Jim Gavin and Peter Ockowere able to convince AMC - home to high-concept dramas such as “The Walking Dead,” “Preacher” and “Into the Badlands” - to give a series about a fictional so-called secret “Lynx” society set in Long Beach, Calif. a whirl. Called “Lodge 49,” the 10-episode series debuts at 10 p.m. on AMC August 6 and all 10 episodes are available on AMC Premiere, an upgrade option for Comcast Xfinity and YouTube TV subscribers for an extra$4.99 per month. It was shot largely in metro Atlanta.

GEORGIA ENTERTAINMENT NEWS — Georgia studios Crafty Apes (visual effects) and Moonshine Post-Production (post services) have collaborated on the production of AMC Networks original series, “Lodge 49″ — the new series will debut on Monday, August 6 at 10pm EST.
Crafty Apes handled on-set supervision and all of the visual effects for the series. Moonshine Post handled real-time playback solutions, dailies and key deliverables for the project.

RAPID TV NEWS — Georgia-based studios Crafty Apes and Moonshine Post-Production have collaborated on the production of AMC Networks original series, Lodge 49.
Lodge 49 is a modern fable set in Long Beach, Calif about a disarmingly optimistic local ex-surfer, Dud (Wyatt Russell), who’s drifting after the death of his father and collapse of the family business. Dud finds himself on the doorstep of a rundown fraternal lodge where a middle-aged plumbing salesman, Ernie (Brent Jennings), welcomes him into a world of cheap beer, easy camaraderie and the promise of alchemical mysteries that may — or may not — put Dud on the path to recover the idyllic life he’s lost. The series was produced almost entirely in Georgia.
